Acid rain may cause a rapid increase in the rates of erosion and weathering. This kit allows students exposure to many rock materials and metals, both naturally-occurring and common in construction, in an acidic environment where they can examine the reaction of these materials in contrast to the same materials exposed to “normal” rain (tap water). Kit includes enough materials for 15 groups and includes 1 bag of marble chips, 1 bag of brick chips, 1 bag of granite chips, 1 bag of limestone chips, 1 bag of sandstone chips, 1 bag of steel shot, 1 bag of copper shot, 1 bag of zinc shot, 3 x 25ml Sulfuric acid concentrate (to make 500ml each), 120 disposable measuring cups, a teacher’s manual, and a student study guide (copymasters are included).
