15˝ Tube Trap Squirrel Trap, 4.5˝ Dia.
Used with or without bait, Tube Traps are a natural attractant to squirrels wanting to run through it or hide in it. When a squirrel reaches the pan in the middle of the trap, a double-torsion spring is triggered. Depending on the trap size, captured squirrels are generally hidden from public view. Tube Traps are constructed of 21-gauge steel and are available in a standard 15˝ length or a compact 7.5˝ length for small confined spaces. Caution: This is a lethal trap. Use special care when setting and locating.

This trap works. 2 dozen squirrels gone in 2 weeks. I never realized how many squirrels came to my bird feeders!
I used peanut butter, spread above the trap plate, not on the plate, per advice from Product Support. I plan on putting a pecan on the plate to see if that attracts more.

Easy to use. Does the job. But don't leave it outside overnight unless you want to catch something besides a squirrel.

Best trap ever. Eight squirrels in first five days. Zero misfires. My only regret that I waited so long to buy one, and that I only bought one. Put it too close to the bird feeder one day, didn't think a two ounce bird could get caught.:-(.
Gave up on live traps long ago, and other traps I've used were maybe 25% effective. This one you don't even need bait, just put it where the squirrels frolic - they find it irresistible. Catch them faster with bait than curiosity.
Made in USA. If they are in stock pay the extra $10 for rust proof version. Really strong spring. Takes a bit to get the knack for setting the trap. I like that it is deep enough that the dogs and other varmints can't accidently spring it, and only the tail sticks out so the bleeding hearts that feed the tree rats don't know what has happened to their over fed furry tree demons.
Lethal trap. Kills Squirrels. Made in USA. Looks innocuous so neighbors won't notice or complain. You know, the ones that feed the varmints.

Speedy delivery of our traps... they work well! We deployed them this summer with excellent results. Make sure to put the safety on at NIGHT to avoid off target species entrapment.
Prior experience with forestry -suppliers made me want to come back

Great trap! They've helped me control the tree rats in our area. A friend recommended I buy one and I wanted a year to do it, big mistake. Once I added the Peanut Butter to the inside of the cage then trap did its job. When they’re real active I have caught some within 10 minutes of resetting the trap! I screwed the trap to the top rail of my fence. If your not very strong I recommend you buy the setting tool.

Best Trap ever. 100% effective 8 squirrels in 5 days. No false releases. Must be irresistible as I caught three in the exact same location. Previous traps I've used were maybe effective 25% of the time so this trap is "totally awesome".
Great design, no other varmints, well except mice, can get in to either take the bait, or become collateral damage. Possible for a child or small-boned person to trigger it, but the safety is good and firm.
My only regrets are I didn't order one sooner, and that I only ordered one.
I don't usually get excited about stuff, but after all the squirrel damage I've had, I'm very happy with my new equipment.

Bait one end with bread and peanut butter then block it with a small rock or better yet
Put a long 5 inch nail or piece of wire through the two end holes (from top to bottom).
I screwed a 2x6 board underneath the trap to act as a base for easy maneuverability.
Works wonderful- Very easy to use.

The device works. I got a rat on my first night. I used old gloves to keep my scent off. It's easy to set once you get the hang of it. Read the directions. On my second trap, the trigger bent ever so slightly but enough that it doesn't work. The company is going to fix or replace it. This thing has a ton of force so be careful. Had the trigger not bent, I'd say 5 stars all the way.

I drilled a hole on the front and back of the trap and mounted a 2x6 board under it to keep the trap more stable. Once you figure out how to use it the trap works flawlessly.

Purchased this trap (rust-free) and have been very disappointed. The force of the spring has caused both the tube and the kill arm to deform after about 10 uses. The trap itself takes a comically large amount of force to trigger, even after loosening the bolt and greasing the mechanism (I had previously thought it had something to do with the rust-free coating causing the plate to stick - yes I have set rat traps before and know you have to fiddle to get them on the edge of tripping). Squirrels just lick the bait, skitter away, and mock me.

I have removed over 100 squirrels and one rabbit. My trap is quite rusty and the force is so high the trigger bar is bent but I still have success! Came here to buy another.

This trap has been one of the best purchases I have ever made. I sprayed it a flat brown with some Rust-Oleum to protect it. I baited it unset for several days. Once they recognized it as a food source, I set it. My first couple of catches were not instant kills so I found the instructions on how to make it more sensitive. Now it is working as designed. I cannot recommend this product enough if you have a squirrel problem. I have it on the ground and sometimes the birds go in it to steal the bait. So far none of them have been killed but I always watch my trap when it is set and have had to chase off a Red-bellied woodpecker that probably could've tripped the spring. And one of our dogs is interested in the peanut butter bait I sometimes use. So just be aware of what other animals are around.

I bought this a few weeks ago and set it on the ground with no results, then I strapped it on top of the fence post so it doesn't move, and it's a killing a machine, 7 dead in 3 days, baited with pecans.

Works exactly as advertised. Hard to set, the spring is very strong. Holding it and setting the trap takes three hands. But a trick is to screw it to your workbench at each end then easily set trap and apply safety catch, and install where you want then bait if desired and remove safety. Easy to set that way. I did not use any bait, but put it in a place where they had no option but to go thru it if they wanted to get past it. It was on a deck rail with aluminum flashing wrapped around the rail so they could not bypass the trap. Once trapped, I left it in the trap for a day so others could see it and hopefully be deterred. No squirrels since. I did not use bait as I did not want to attract birds, etc.

This is without a doubt the best lethal trap I have ever used. Bait it with a dab of peanut butter, set it and walk away. Placing it in a location that allows you to see thru its length from a distance tells you when to do it all again.

I live in a subdivision that is overrun by squirrels, which have caused major damage to houses and made contact with electrical systems causing loss of power to entire neighborhoods. I read the reviews on this trap, inquired with the wildlife commission to ensure these were legal in my area, and purchased two traps. Upon arrival I painted them with a good quality spray paint to keep them from rusting and then set the traps. Initially the traps were dispatching squirrels as quick as I could set the traps, this was with or without bait. In 4 months this trap has eliminated about 35 squirrels and I now only set them when I start seeing these nuisance animals on the house or lanai screen. I highly recommend this trap, it is well worth the money, especially when you think of the cost when they start building nest in the attic.

Squirrels pestered the containers of rare plants in my yard digging up newly planted seedlings and the like. This unit dispatched them pretty quick and is a little touchy to set correctly. The animal will not go through the trap unless you put bait in there. My 1st trap has pretty much rusted after two years now or so. Even after really setting it great and using pecan nuts, peanut butter etc, the unit is too rusted to trip the bait pan. As the U-shaped lever that dispatched the animal has a lot of force, it bends the tube somewhat after a number of kills and whacks. That said, it has a shelf life and can only kill so many animals before you need another (30 or so, or 2-3 years, keep it dry and stored when not in use). I've found it pretty easy to grab the trap with gloves and pull the lever back to toss in a bag in the garbage etc unlike some of the other reviewers.

Received two units today. Much bigger than I expected. These are well constructed and a little heavy. After reading the instructions and watching the video on their site, I baited them and set them out. Glad I bought the bar to assist in setting the trap as the spring is pretty strong. Hoping for good results, as I am tired of squirrels raiding my peach and Asian pear trees and destroying almost half the fruit over time.

We have always had a problem with squirrels, but recently a 12-acre partial of woods was cleared next to our street for another subdivision. Naturally, the squirrels moved into our trees! We had around 12 squirrels at our bird feeders all the time. Received the Tube Trap on Thursday, and now five days later, we have ridden ourselves of 8 squirrels and 5 ground squirrels. Excellent product. Crunchy peanut butter works great; take a tablespoon full and smear on the paddle so that it sticks! If my wife would re-set it during day, we would probably get 3-6 per day!

I tried everthing to keep squirrels off my mango trees, which eventually led me to this product. It exceeded all my expectations. This trap is a bit much for south Florida's very small squirrels. It's like using a shotgun to shoot a housefly, but how effective is that? Lost count of how many have been fallen in the last few years, and I only use it for a month or so when mangos are getting ripe. I mounted mine in the tree, on the lowest branch, at a 45-degree angle using zip ties, peanut butter bait.

WOW. Just WOW.
This thing works. I was skeptical as my Fox Squirrels are pretty savvy from me picking them off with a pellet gun. I even caught a squirrel with no bait!!!!
Pros -
It works
They are dead
Easy to get squirrel out after the hammer comes down
Cons -
Hard to set (also a pro because the spring is so good!)
Kids or cats or dogs could easily get into this trap
The squirrel sticks out of the tube so if you want get it emptied soon so nothing grabs it or something else takes it (dog, raccoon)
Needs Text Me after success option
I first starting using peanut butter but then I had chipmunks or something eat the bait and not get caught. Now I have been using this unsalted kashi nut packs I got on clearance because they were almost expired. They love em. Make sure that your trigger is on the last possible spot when setting it and use the safety when setting.
This will eliminate your squirrel problem. I have multiple squirrel caught days.
I HIGHLY recommend this product.

We had a HUGE Ground Squirrel population that was completely out of Control. I have two of these Tube traps, the Green rust proof model and the Plain steel, But I have caught way more squirrels in the Green one, then the plain steel. 3x as much in the green one. I set both of them out and caught one squirrel the first day, and caught one squirrel everyday for two weeks, then I started catching one squirrel every other day for three weeks. Then when the numbers started dwindling down I was catching one squirrel a week, until I didnt see anymore squirrels for the rest of the summer. These traps a Great, and when you learn how to set them there are Not hard to do at all. Placement of the Trap is important. Watching a few videos on this trap helps with placement, and setting of the trap. Remember to empty the trap everyday, or a Larger predictor , may try to carry off a trap with a dead squirrel in it.

Smart squirrels, chewed through our trash cans. They steal garbage out of them and bring them back and sit on our deck to eat. The dog has found chicken and rib bones-and I'm tired of pulling things out of her mouth. Ordered 2, almost right away I caught 3 grey squirrels, and if I had 2 more traps they would have been full. My only concern is that due to the size of the squirrels, they aren't killed instantly. This is very disturbing to me-I am going to try and close off one end to see if that draws the squirrel in further, to get "fully" trapped. I can't imagine anything survivine the SNAP of that trap! Happy with how they are working so far!

bought the trap off amazon, made a cap for it out of a mini pie plate. this is amazing, in a week we have caught 6 squirrels. We had to experiment with places to place. today however, it didn't kill the critter, he was huge and it wasnt strong enough. we finished the job but felt bad it wasnt instantly lethal.

I bought 2 of these. Initially I caught a few squirrels but now they wont even enter it despite peanut butter bait. They are inches from either end but fail to enter. Moreover you need to be a weight lifted to set the mechanism. If you are old or weak this trap is not for you. My opinion ? grossly OVER RATED.

I bought the tube trap probably 2 years ago. It is a killing machine. I thought I had a "few" highly destructive squirrels and within 4 months, I stopped counting at 120. I live in a coastal suburban area that started developing several undeveloped areas around me and I can only assume the wildlife population moved to my backyard. In addition, some well-meaning neighbor has been feeding them peanuts. There are peanuts EVERYWHERE. Anyway, I simply tired of the continuous baiting and emptying. Squirrels really seamed to be under control.....until last spring. I am a 60 yr old woman who has been developing arthritis with my thumbs and found the trap to be increasingly difficult to set, so I spent a fortune on alternative traps with absolutely no success. I set down with the tube trap and messed around with the screws, did some cleaning and lubrication and voila!! works like new! I am ordering 2 more hopefully to decrease time spent baiting and emptying. Highly recommend the trap

On 5-9-18 i did a review, as of today my trap has been is use for 66 days. Of those days there have only been 3 days that i did not catch a squirrel, it was a busy week and i just did not have time to rebait it. ( Sparrows will clean out trap). Only one time was trap triggered without squirrel (probably sparrow since i have caught one in it). I have had 5 days where i caught 3 and one day where i caught 4. I'm home today and as of 2pm i have caught 3. My only complaint... i should have bought 2 or 3 of these. I would say that i have probably caught about 90 squirrels in the first 66 days and i still see more running around.

I came back to add a review after 2 years using the squirrel trap. I had sustained under hood vehicle damage and vegetable gardens were impossible. The trap Is very effective at catching squirrels and rats. I set mine on top of a wall which they run on... No bait.
I have a tip for settling the powerful spring bar. First force back the bar and hook the safety. Then use channel locks to compress the final inch and set the trigger hook inside the trip paddle. I also hook the the safety when unloading a catch.

The squirrels love my cherry trees. A friend showed me his rusted tube trap he said worked for him. I ordered one, then primed and painted it. It literally takes seconds to spray paint it. I screwed it to the top rail of my fence. Bait it with peanut butter. I put a tiny amount on each end to attract them, then a small amount on the trigger and on the roof above the trigger. The squirrels have to step on the trigger to get the bait on the roof of the trap. It is deadly. I got 22 squirrels the first year and 28 the second year. Removing the squirrel is very easy. Not sure why others are having a problem???? This trap catches more animals compared to my live trap which I no longer use.

Great trap. I have killed eight squirrels total (four in a couple weeks this year). I recommend one modification. I put screen material over one end of the trap, attaching it with a coupling. I put sunflower seeds in the screened end, and a few sunflower seeds on the open end. Squirrels cannot get enough sunflower seeds, and when they see more on the screened end, they climb through the trap, step on the plate, and WHAM...lights out. This trap works, but I recommend the rust resistant model.

I recently wrote that I liked the trap but that it wouldn\'t go off no matter what I did. Since then, your tech wrote back to try loosening the screw that attaches the plate to the trap. I *thought* it was already loose, but I tried loosening it more, and "voila" it now works like a charm. Much thanks to your tech, John Wilson!

I've used two versions of this trap. One is like this one and the other is treated to be rust resistant. They both work very well. The WCS website says squirells will just run through it and get caugh, no bait needed. That didn't work for me. I went two weeks and didn't catch a single squirrel. When I started baiting it with peanut butter I caught one squirrel a day for two weeks.

We have 3 traps and have caught almost 80 animals from May 1 to August 13th.
We have caught 32 squirrels, 34 chipmunks, 4 pack rats and several mice.
My husband sets them and the peanut butter is eaten off the trap every once in a while but when you catch them it makes up for the misses.
This is the best trap we have found.

I wore my first trap out, so decided to buy a new one after four years. Despite constructive criticisms by reviewers, the manufacturer has ignored advice and decided to keep the status quo and not make improvements. I've had the trap for several months now, and cannot set the trap sensitive enough to catch even a single squirrel. It's basically just a peanut butter feeding station. Don't waste your money.

Trap works as advertised. However, it requires too much handling/fiddling to remove the animal. Also, the product is not rust proof or rust resistant but is intended for outside use. This make no sense. Someone recommended priming and painting it but that's a weekend project not a finished product. Would recommend they zinc galvanize and also solder a hook to keep the device in the set position, making it easier to remove dead animal.

My residential neighborhood has been overrun with squirrels. I decided to do something about it. While browsing the internet looking for catch alive traps, I found this trap. Why have to deal with an angry squirrel after trapping it alive?
I started baiting my new trap on May 6th, and today, May 23rd, I can count 12 that I have removed from the neighborhood. At first it was 2 or 3 a day, and now the pace is a little slower.
To bait the trap, I smear peanut butter on both sides of the bait paddle and then stick some peanut halves and sunflower seeds into the pb 'glue'.
I place the trap on the ground between my squirrel-proof bird feeder and the bird bath, where it is in sight from my study, but is not obvious to neighbors. I only put it out when I am able to monitor it, and I take it in at night.

Exceeds expectations! Our neighborhood was over run by squirrels. Not any more. Took my first one within an hour after UPS dropped it off. 40+ in three weeks. Problem solved. Just like a mouse trap, it takes them out quick, humanely, and mess free. As an earlier posted suggested, I put peanut butter on bread and placed it just behind the trip plate and placed the tube against a fence so it only had one way in. They're used to going in holes so they went in, sometimes 5 a day. I baited them with a taste just outside the front opening. It was a kill every time. Never just caught just part of it like a tail or leg. It was clean every time. Left it out over night a couple of times an got a pregnant possum and a fat stinky skunk. I didn't care for that and took it in at night from then on. This thing does the job very well!

I HAD squirrels chewing on my fence. They were eating everything in my backyard. I HAD squirrels taking food from the table on the patio. Once the trap was in place i couldn't bait it fast enough, I caught 9 squirrel in 5 days. They were standing in line to get caught.
If they figured it out leave the trap baited but not set. Once they get use to the trap set it up.
Overall my yield was better then i expected. I am very happy with this product.

I have apple trees and have been angered by the squirrels eating most of my apples in the past. I have successfully trapped 139 squirrels, just in my backyard, with this trap! I use peanut butter, but the trick is to put one of the open ends of the tube up against a wall or something. Then, put a dab of peanut butter on the trigger pan, and a 2nd dab inside near the blocked off end. That way, they have to step over and onto the pan to get the 2nd bite of peanut butter. If you only put the bait on the pan, they can eat it off without ever stepping on it. After 139 squirrels (and one poor skunk that got caught around the shoulders and survived just fine), this poor trap has gotten so banged up and bent that it won't stay set any more so I'll be getting a new one. Highly recommended!

I use this trap in my fenced vegetable garden and fruit orchard, to eliminate the smart varmints that figure out how to get in.
Definitely paint it before the first use. The tube is wide enough that you can paint even the inside well. I use camouflage paint (Home Depot) to disguise it from the crafty Varmint...and it looks real cool.

I purchased this trap about 2 months ago and to date, have trapped 21 squirrels. For awhile I was getting 2 per day! Now I'm down to 1 every 2 or 3 days, but it is very effective. My bird feeders and cedar siding are now much safer.
I use peanut butter mixed with black oil sunflower seeds to bait and the varmits can't resist.

The release mechanism can be polished if its not sensitive enough, or "roughened" if its too sensitive. The best bait we've found is peanut butter. Our three-neighbor total in three years is over 1000. We just wanted to thin them out, but we still occasionally get 4 in one day.

I agree the trap is great when it works, I get a good yield but the squirrels get wise to it and learn how to not trip it. Maybe the "latch" that holds the spring down should be reconsidered so it is more sensitive to the animal touching the food on the bait plate.

I don't believe this trap could be improved, except for adding primer paint. It works perfectly. I have gotten 126 eastern fox squirrels (tree rats) in 2008. Two of my neighbors have similar numbers. Squirrels got gnawed into attics and made nests and caused a neighborhood rebellion. Thanks to a great trap, we're at least thinning the rodents.

The trap works great WHEN it works, which is only about half the time or less. Squirrels can easily get the bait off without tripping it. I even have it set so it's barely latched, so theoretically, it should go off at the slightest touch. There are a lot of well-fed squirrels around here with peanut butter in their bellies!
I concur that it needs to be primed and painted or it turns into a rusty mess. It's a pain to set as well. I've pinched my hand several times. Surely improvements can be made...

I am using my second squirrel tube trap, and I just ordered my third. We have a major problem with Eastern Fox Squirrels. They eat holes in houses and build nests in attics. Three of us have been using the traps for four years. We each have gotten approx. 100 squirrels per year. The traps will last for about 300 squirrels, and then the spring looses its tension. They are great!!
