This acoustic ranging instrument measures depth to the static water level in wells, piezometers, sounding tubes, or any closed pipe in just seconds. The probe transmits a sound wave into the well or pipe and then measures the time for the pulse to return after making contact with the water. This measurement method eliminates the need for decontamination of measuring equipment or wells. The Model 104 measures down to 600 meters (2000 feet), works in straight or crooked pipes, and is ideal for wells with difficult access. Water level readings can be displayed in Metric or English units on the LCD display, and readings are automatically temperature compensated. In order to account for different well diameters, offsets, well obstructions or features, you can input measurement parameters to obtain the most accurate water level reading possible. The probe is designed to sit in the vent opening of a standard well cap. For measurements in larger diameter openings, use the included plastic disc to cover the well opening to ensure a strong signal and accurate reading. Includes control unit, probe, plastic cover for larger wells, and a field bag. Three-year warranty from the manufacturer.
