AMS Hollow Stem Auger Kit without Hammer Drill
Kit includes: 3” dia. x 3’ lead auger with inner rod and plug, 3” dia. x 3’ extension with inner rod, adapter cap (auger to 5/8” thread), SDS drill-to-auger adapter, 7/8” dia. x 2’ slotted soil probe, AMS hammer attachment, and two crescent wrenches. Components fit in a rugged, foam-lined, plastic Pelican® case.
A fully portable kit for accessing and sampling soil, soil gas, or shallow groundwater. The hollow stem technique temporarily seals the walls of the drilled access hole, preventing bore hole wall from collapsing while sampling and ensuring discrete interval samples. Drills a three inches in diameter by six to nine feet deep hole unless soil has heavy clays or rocks, which can cause system damage if excessive force is used. Accepts any sampling or measurement device with a diameter of 7/8” or less.
