Jim-Gem Speedy Dibble
Designed by high-production tree planting contractors, this dibble’s beveled arrow point, light weight, and shorter length allow for fast and easy tree planting. Dibble bar is approximately 2 lbs. lighter and 2-1/8” shorter than standard dibble bars. Works well in a variety of soils, especially light to medium and moist soils. Blade is 3”W x 11-7/8”L x 3/8” thick. Total length of dibble is 35-7/8”.

My son and I have planted +/-1,000 trees with this bar. Soft or tough soil, it works fine. It's 30+ years old and doesn't need a replacement, still as usefull as new. My son will inherit the bar when he inherits the farm. Recommended. Bought it at Forrestry Supppliers.

The weld between the handle and bar is very rough and has sharp burrs. Plan to spend some time filing these off before using the tool, or you'll soon be shredding skin off your fingers/thumbs. I bought a few of these and a few of the KBC bars for comparison. These are nicer when walking around (lighter), but they in rocky soils but we greatly prefer the KBC when it comes to planting plugs....much better in breaking through rocky soils.
