I have purchased 2 of these to facilitate my wood cutting operation. I use a certain length measuring stick for a particular stove wood length and then just walk along the tree/log marking for my chain saw cuts. It's convenient and fast and over the years has saved me a ton of time. Thank you.

Not many options for timber scribes. Be prepared to sharpen the scribe when you get it. A chainsaw round file and flat file set works nice. Get the model without hand guard, it just gets in the way.
