The Sub-Surface Grab Sampler (Item #53879) is a field tool designed for collecting water samples below the immediate surface layer without disturbing the surrounding material. This type of sampler is widely used by environmental monitoring agencies, water treatment facilities, and field researchers who need to obtain representative samples from lakes, ponds, reservoirs, or slow-moving streams where surface contamination, film, or debris could otherwise skew results. The unit consists of a rigid handle and a sample bottle holder assembly that allows the user to lower the attached bottle into the water column at a controlled depth. Once submerged, the sampler’s angled design directs water smoothly into the bottle opening, minimizing turbulence and air entrapment. This provides a cleaner, more accurate representation of the subsurface conditions compared to simple surface scooping.
