Garlon 4 is the liquid ester formulation for foliar and basal bark applications, and is effective on actively growing brush by penetrating the bark and entering the cambium layer. Also effective as a late-season application. Active ingredient is 60.45% triclopyr butoxyethyl ester. 2-1/2 Gallon Jug.

How late in the season can you use Garlon?
And, do I have to put a penetrating addition to the Garlon so it will be absorbed by the bushes?
You can use Garlon all year. The best time for cut surface and basal bark treatments is fall to early winter, but basal bark can be effective all year. It is recommended to mix Garlon with diesel or some other type of oil for basal bark treatments.
