Use these root dips to inoculate the bare roots of plants before planting. The root dips work in nearly all species except rhododendrons, azaleas, and laurels. DieHard™ Root Dip contains low host specificity endo- and ectomycorrhizae fungi. DieHard™ Ecto Root Dip contains ectomycorrhizae fungi only and is ideal for aspen, arborvitae, beech, birch, chestnut, fir hemlock, hickory, oak, pecan, pine, poplar, and spruce. Both root dips contain Horta-Sorb™ SM, a co-polymer gel which absorbs and holds water to keep plant roots from drying out. Also contain humic acids, biostimulants, beneficial bacteria, soluble sea kelp, and yucca plant extracts to promote rapid root development. Application: Mix a 1 lb. package of DieHard™ Root Dip with 5 gallons of water to treat up to 2,000 seedlings (depending on size of seedling root). Mix 3 oz. of DieHard™ Ecto Root Dip with 2-1/2 gallons of water to treat up to 550 seedlings or mix 15 oz. with 10 gallons of water to treat up to 2,200 seedlings (depending on size of seedling root).
