To use the psychometric slide rule you must obtain a wet and dry bulb reading. A common tool to get the wet and dry bulb temperatures is a sling psychrometer. Once you have obtained the wet and dry bulb temperatures the slide rule can be used to determine humidity. The ruler needs to be slid until the wet and dry bulb temperatures line up. The arrow on the end will point to the relative humidity percentage.
