Torsional Vane Shear Tester
Use in the field or lab to quickly determine shear strength of cohesive soils. Place rod tip on reasonably flat soil surface at least 25 mm in diameter, insert vanes into soil, and turn torque head until failure develops. The breaking point is automatically locked on the dial to record the shear value. Divisions as small as 0.05 kg/cm2 allows visual interpretation to nearest 0.01 kg/cm2. Three vane kit measures 0.2, 1.0 or 2.5 kg/cm2 ranges. Vane driver is approximately 3-1/8˝L. Includes carrying case with belt loop.
