Velpar L Liquid Herbicide, 2.5 Gallon

Soil-active herbicide controls trees, brush, weeds, and grasses by inhibiting photosynthesis. Can be dispensed onto ground in undiluted form using spotguns for tree or brush control, or in spray form using high/low water volume spray rigs for weed and grass control. Susceptible species: Trees/brush: blackgum, elm, dogwood, green ash, hickory, oaks, persimmon, sweetgum, and willow; Weeds/grass: bluegrass, dandelion, orchardgrass, and many others. Factors affecting performance: Moisture: needs rain to carry herbicide into soil. Temperature: warm. Timing: works best during early stage of plant growing season. Water dispersible liquid. One gallon contains 2 lbs. of the active ingredient. Active ingredient is hexazinone, 25% by weight. 2-1/2 Gallon Container.

Velpar has been very effective for killing mesquite and other woody brush on our ranch. We find it particularly useful for spot spraying woody brush along fence lines, roads, pipelines etc

Application rate? Volume per gallon of water? Application rate? Volume per gallon of water?
Application rate and volume per gallon aren’t one-size-fits-all with Velpar L. The mix depends on the target species, soil type, stand conditions and the method of application. Because of that, the EPA label is the only source that gives the correct rate for each situation. Any rate that isn’t taken directly from the label would be considered off-label, and this product must be applied according to the label only.
