This is a great tool for the money. The handle is a nice shape, with a large swell at the bottom. We have been working on a beetle kill removal project, and it sticks very nicely in the dead/dry logs. Mid-winter, it is hard to get a good purchase on a frozen log. We bought 4 of these for the jobsite. With multiple people hooking a log, we have been able to move some huge logs by hand to get them in position for further yarding with hooks & cable.

Great affordable tool, not sure what the star refers to, however it is made in Canada. The curved handle is 36" unfinished, but a little sanding and 1 coat of linseed and 1 coat of butchers wax, a couple of minutes with a millbas file, it picks and hooks even hard wood with no problem.
