Tick and Chigger Gaiters, Pair

These gaiters even keep debris from getting in your boots and your laces from untying by catching on brush and vines. Heavy-duty, elastic material stretches allowing you to pull the gaiters on over your boots and pants, then shrinks back for a tight, secure fit. One pair.

Surprisingly, there aren't many good options out there for tick gaiters that aren't ridiculously expensive. I searched for quite a while before finding these to replace a camo pair from a different manufacturer that wore out and are no longer made. These are the only ones of this type (one piece, no velcro, etc) that I found. Overall, they work as expected and provide protection from ticks getting up your pant legs. They are a bit tight for my liking, but better than too loose I suppose. As others have noted, they do fray with use and I find myself cutting off long threads periodically, but it is more cosmetic than anything so far, I haven't had a pair fail by tearing or falling apart yet.

These worked well for me. They are holding up well after one season. Together with treated pants, I didn't get ticks on me.

These are great, much better than the others I have tried. These are a bit tighter to get on but they also protect better for the same reason.

I want to like these gaiters, but they just give me too much trouble. They go over leather (lace up) boots OK, but they're just too tight to be worn over rubber slip-on boots. They also tend to snag really easily, and fray horribly with time. And they collect burrs really, really well! However, they seem to absorb bug repellant well, so they undoubtedly do the job of limiting tick exposure. If you work in only grass (no sticks or vines to snag) and you don't wear rubber boots, they're probably fine.

These gaiters are simple but effective. They do snag a little in tough brush but hold up well. A bonus is they help protect your boot laces.

I've used this type of tick gaiter for over 20 years (still have the original pair), and I settled on tucking them into my boots. Ticks seem to always go up, not down my legs, once they cross from the boot collars, so this forces them onto the surface of my pants where, as they continue up, they either get knocked off by veg or fall off after contacting the DEET (40%) rings I spray around my pant legs and waist. If I wear the gaiters over the boot collar, they tend to eventually get pushed up above the boots. I wear backpacking boots, though, so others may not have this problem with a standard forestry boot. I wish there was a gaiter that would attach to the outside of the boot so I could keep the debris out. A strap around the boot sole would probably not last long in brush and slash.

I am on my second pair, and I find the Tick and Chigger Gaiters to be easy to put on and take off and leave virtually no place for ticks to be in. Only bad part is that they can catch and unravel a little; however, I get 1-3 years of use before replacing. For the money, ease of use, and comfort I recommend them.

Use these a lot in my forestry business; had them treated and never have ticks as they eliminate open pants legs; great for protecting boot laces too.

These gaiters did not do as well as I had hoped. The product kept sliding up, off of the boots of myself and and my field tech. The product could be vastly improved with a strap that would slide under the boot between the heel and sole to hold the gaiters in place.

These gaiters kept riding up and off of our boots. They need to have a strap to wrap around the bottom of the boots to stop this traveling, which was very annoying.

I bought these after being diagnosed with late stage neurological lyme disease. They work great, not a single embedded tick the entire field season.

Bought these a couple of years back and they worked well for our tick surveys, esp on hot July days when you don't want to wear heavier gaiters. Good price, esp if you have a few employees to hand them out to.

I have one pair of gators and plan to buy more. We have a type of plant that locals call crawlers that work right up inside a pair of pants. These gators prevent this as well as stopping chiggers.

I used these for one summer and they worked well for me. I work in a high tick concentration scrub-shrub environment, so the more protection the better. The only thing is that I had to buy two pairs because I did not find the height adequate for proper protection and with one it kept moving. Also if you have really thin limbs (as one of my crew did), they don't work as well.
